Across Every Discipline.
Equine Photography
Every discipline tells a different story, and capturing it starts with understanding the horse, the sport, and the perfect moment to press the shutter.
With experience photographing everything from hunter/jumper and dressage to Western pleasure, reining, cow horse, all-around events, barrel racing, and rodeo, I understand that no two disciplines move the same. A winning hunter round demands a different eye than a sliding stop, a breakaway run, or a dressage test. Knowing the rhythm of each event allows me to anticipate the defining moments rather than simply react to them.
My experience spans some of the equine industry's most prestigious competitions, including the Winter Equestrian Festival, Adequan Global Dressage Festival, Dressage at Devon, the Sudden Impulse Futurity, the Premiere Women's Rodeo Championship, and the APHA World Championship Show.
Whether photographing the precision of a dressage movement, the elegance of a hunter round, the power of a reining stop, or the intensity of a rodeo run, my goal is always the same: to create images that preserve the emotion, athleticism, and connection between horse and rider. Every photograph is approached with an editorial eye, blending technical precision with authentic storytelling to deliver images that feel as powerful as the moment itself.
Meet Jillian
Horses have been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up showing Paint Horses, I earned multiple World and Reserve World Championship titles in the all-around classes, an experience that taught me the dedication, patience, and partnership behind every great horse and rider.
That lifelong involvement in the industry gives me a perspective that extends beyond the camera. I understand the anticipation of walking into the show pen, the emotion behind a championship run, and the countless hours of preparation that lead up to a single moment. Whether I'm photographing a horse show, covering a rodeo, or telling someone's story, I know what those moments mean because I've lived them myself.
Today, I've combined that passion with a career in journalism, photography, and digital media. My work has taken me from the hunter rings of the Winter Equestrian Festival and the Adequan Global Dressage Festival to the arenas of the National Finals Rodeo, the show pens of the APHA World Championship Show, and everywhere in between. Covering both English and Western disciplines has given me a deep appreciation for the diversity of the equestrian world and the people who make it so special.
Above all, I believe the best stories are authentic ones. Whether I'm creating images, writing an article, or producing content for a brand, my goal is to capture the moments that matter most and tell stories that leave a lasting impression.
